The Move

My mom and my friend Charisse flew in last Thursday night to help me move. We worked Friday and Saturday and got everything cleaned and moved. I was so grateful last weekend for all the people who helped us out. My friend Heidi babysat my little kids during the day on Friday and then helped us unpack boxes on Saturday. We had two wonderful sisters in my old ward help watch kids on Saturday. Our friend Derek came early on Saturday and helped Joe move all day and we had lots of help from our old ward (and some nice neighbors who saw us moving in and came to help over here as well). On Sunday, Rachel brought us dinner and my mom and Charisse flew home. I feel so blessed that we have such wonderful friends and family!

On Saturday, I had arranged for our satellite TV, cable internet, and pest control people to all be at the new house at 8am. It was so funny. There were these guys working everywhere while my mom, Charisse, Heidi, and I worked. They kept asking me questions about wires and stuff that I had no clue about. The Dish Network was a special challenge. I won't get into it, but let's just say that he was there for THREE HOURS before he even started! His boss had to come and everything. The funniest part was after we had gotten everything situated and he came inside to talk to me again. He told me that he was too scared to climb up the ladder to put the dish on the roof! I sort of looked at him, dumbfounded, not sure what to say. Finally, I helped him find a lower spot on the house! It turns out his name was Ammon. :) Just like our guy!

It was such a crazy few days, but I am so happy that we did it. We love our new home. The kids are so happy here. We went back on Monday to finish a little bit of cleaning and picked up a few odds and ends and the kids were cheering when we left. :) I said, "Isn't it great that we have a new home?" and Caleb said, "And a new yard for Tubby." So sweet.

This was the sunrise I woke up to on Friday morning! So beautiful!
The kids had lots of fun playing in the moving truck when it was empty. The girls were singing a song on their "stages" in this picture

Last week the kids were playing in their swimming suits and this week it is all snowy! Mixed up autumn weather...
