I moved beyond that, though, and called to have him seen. I took he, Emma, and Bekah to the doctor's office. I had to wake Bekah up from a nap and she wasn't very happy about it. I hate taking lots of kids there. If I just have the sick kid, I can hold them on my lap. Healthy kids, though, just want to play. I cringe everytime they want to use the toys or read a book thinking of all the other sick kids that have played with them as well. Anyway, I digress again. He had a severe ear infection (the doctor said it was VERY full of puss...it looks like a really bad white head zit ready to pop), a sinus infection, and pink eye in both eyes. Sigh. I then took the three kids to get the two prescriptions for Caleb (to add to the other two we already have for kids). I am so grateful for insurance! I have bought over $200 worth of prescriptions for the kids this last week and I only had to pay $17. Nice. Bekah was screaming her head off the whole time we were there because she missed a meal in there somewhere. Oops.
Bekah and Caleb have taken their medicines and finally zonked out. The house is blessedly quiet. Unfortunately, I have to go pick up the big kids from school in ten minutes. Another nap interrupted...
Caleb kept holding his ear that hurt and saying "owie"

Oh man!!! I should've read your blog before I started whining about the occasional, random vomiting, LOL!!!
Fifth's Disease sounds a lot like Roseola, which Kiddo had - and it was TERRIFYING, but it's so funny, because it's "harmless" (meaning "pointless," aside from the general misery it inflicts on everyone... and hey, they're immune to that particular thing afterwards...) Glad she's getting over it!
And poor Caleb - I know the "we were JUST THERE!!!" doctor-avoidance feeling, but I'm really glad that you were able to get him seen & started on some meds to help him feel better! It is SO miserable when our babies are SOOO miserable! (Especially in a series... how exhausting for mommy!!!)
(Oh - and I have to share - when I took Kiddo in for his flu shot, the one seemingly sick kid in the room - the one with the BARKING COUGH - came over and tried to take his flashlight away from him. I was about to kick him back across the room! "Keep your sticky 9-year-old fingers and cough-y germs off of my asthmatic two-year-old!" But then his mom got him away. I just tried to look understanding... and that flashlight got sanitized. Twice.)
Anyway, wow, woman... you are such a trooper!!! We'll send our remaining "healthy vibes" your way!!!
