We had such an exciting day planned. Our friend Rachel had invited us to meet her at the SLC library. We had never been there before, and we LOVE the library, so we were excited. From there, we were going to take the kids on the TRAX (our train sort of thing) to temple square and visit the Beehive House and eat lunch in the Lion House pantry. My kids were SOOOOO excited. We were supposed to meet Rachel around 11am, but were running late. We drove all the way into Salt Lake and just as we approached the library, Caleb threw up all over himself. Argh! I phoned Rachel and turned the car around and drove the 45 minutes back home again. The car had the lovely scent of vomit and the kids were all disappointed. Emma was especially mad and had quite a fit about not getting to go on the "train" and then Hannah and Lizzie started fighting. All in all, it wasn't quite the day we expected.
Caleb was NOT happy when we got home!
In the end, things turned out okay. Caleb did not throw up any more and after he was cleaned up and settled down, I ran to Blockbuster to rent some movies and Wii games for the kids. I guess it was kind of a "Fun Friday" after all!
Hannah (8) and Emma (4) enjoy Barbie Mermadia
It was pretty lame that we drove for 1.5 hours in the car and wasted that much gas all for nothing. I was so grateful to Heavenly Father, though, for blessing us that Caleb threw up in the car and not in the library, or on the TRAX, or in the Beehive house. If I had not been running late, he would have done it right in the library. I am truly counting my blessings today!
