Now THOSE are some adorable fish!
At our home, we call Friday "Fun Day." We let the kids have unlimited electronic privileges, stay up late, AND they all get to sleep on the floor of our bedroom. Don't ask me why this is so fun for the kids (even Ammon), but they really love it. On this past Friday Fun Day, we also had a great time at the local aquarium and a BBQ at my friend Heidi's house (that's a whole other post, heehee).
The kids had a great time at the aquarium. Well, all the kids but Emma, of course. She did okay, but she was very nervous the whole time. She would not leave my side and asked to leave a bunch. Sigh...

Emma: "Can they get out?"
Me: "No, honey, they can't get out."
Five minutes later:
Emma: "Will the sharks eat me?"
Me: "No. They can't hurt you."
Me: "No. They can't hurt you."
Another five minutes:
Emma: "Are you sure they can't get me? Are they mean? Will they bite me?"
Me: "Babe, you're fine. I'm right here. Nothing can hurt you."
Me: "Babe, you're fine. I'm right here. Nothing can hurt you."
Again:
Emma: "Can we go to the car yet? I want to go to the car"
Me: "Sweetie, we just got here. Hold my hand. Nothing will get you."

This was pretty much the whole adventure. The older kids really enjoyed themselves, and Caleb was in hog-heaven (as my mom would say). He couldn't get enough of it.
What is it about kids and the opportunity to touch real live sea animals? Caleb (2) couldn't stop talking about how he got to "tuch a waader."
Hannah (8) taking her turn driving us through the wetlands in our "boat"Emma (4) and I enjoy the ride (I know it looks like I have to use the bathroom, but I am actually just sitting on the edge of the boat :))
Ammon (10) checks out some exotic species of frogs
Lizzie (6) makes her way through the coral, while Hannah (8) bites it?
Emma is much safer (and happier) when she sticks by the stroller as the others check out the exhibits
Caleb (2), Hannah (8), Ammon (10), and Lizzie (6) check out the eels
