Dancing Divas

Hannah and Lizzie participated in their school's Dance Festival this week. They were so cute. Hannah was an uninhibited dancer while Lizzie was much more earnest. It was very well organized and included performances from Belle and some enormous Samoan guys doing the Haka dance (which Caleb and Emma deemed "scarwy").

I would have really enjoyed myself if it weren't for the fact that I was wrestling my two year old from beginning to end. I'm really not sure why Caleb decided to be difficult throughout the entire performance. We were outside, which he loves, and the day was gorgeous. He had cars, and I even tried to bribe him with his binky (which is supposed to be strictly used only at "sleepy" time). Unfortunately, he decided to get really, really grumpy before the show even started. I had to work desperately throughout the whole thing to keep him from having a major meltdown right there, although he did have about a billion "mini-meltdowns." I was hoping that maybe the girls would be early in the show (because they are in 2nd grade and kindy), but the acts didn't go in any order.

I told Joe that by the end, the three hour show was starting to feel like Gilligan's three hour tour...never ending. We made it through, though, with some help from the playground and thanks to the blessing that Bekah and Emma were well behaved little girls.

Hannah (8) danced to music from "Cars" and Lizzie (6) danced to music from "The Little Mermaid."
