It's Time to Par-tay!

School ended last week and we were all very excited! I wanted to make the big day special, so I planned lots of fun activities after school got out at noon. Just before class ended, Hannah called to ask if she could go home with her BFFT (best friends forever together...that's what they call each other) Hayley. I was bummed that she would miss our party, but agreed. I set up a fancy "restaurant" in our kitchen, complete with menus and napkins. I told the kids that I had to go shopping and left them with "Madame La'Fancy" their waitress (they later told me that she looked a LOT like me, hehe). After lunch, we went out in the backyard where I had a water party ready. We had water balloons, water guns, a slip and slide, a kiddie pool and lots of sunshine! I even got my own suit on (ugh) and played with them. We were out there for nearly FIVE hours! The kids loved it.

We missed Hanny like crazy, but enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. Hannah finally came home around 7:30. Hayley's parents brought her home in their convertible and she couldn't stop talking about driving in a cool car with no roof (ahhh...the joys of BFFs with ginormous houses complete with huge theater rooms, tooth fairies that give TWENTY dollars a tooth, and toy stores for a bedroom...sigh..that is probably a whole other post, hehe). She and Hayley were having such a great time that Hayley stayed and played at our house until 10:30. I am happy that my kids have found such great friends. :) We had a wonderful day and are looking forward to many more such wonderful days this summer!

As I was waiting in the car to pick up the kids, I heard them make an announcement over the loudspeaker. All the teachers were called to the exit. They left the kids in their classrooms and made a "tunnel" for the students to go through as they left for the summer. They then called the classes one grade at a time and all the teachers cheered and high-fived the kids as they left. I thought it was so awesome!
Sixth grade...CHECK!
Hannah and Hayley loved third grade! They are hoping the end of the world doesn't happen next year (aka, they end up in different classes, lol)
Cutest first grader in the nation (oh wait, SECOND grader, hehe...she is very insulted if I say she is a first grader because she claims to officially be a second grader now that school is out )
Menus! Too bad I didn't get a picture of that amazing Madame La'Fancy! She was one hot babe. ;)
The kids loved their lunch and loved having a bus boy (who also looked remarkably like mom and Madame La'Fancy) clean up after them.
One of the games the kids played was trying to break their water balloons by jumping and sitting on them on the tramp. It didn't work, though. Too much buoyancy, I guess.
Ammon is an eleven year old boy. Needless to say, he was really into the water balloon fight.
Poor Lizzie (and Mama) were the main victims of Ammon's wrath. If he hit one of the little kids they would cry and that sort of takes the fun out of it.
Ammon's personal pool :)
We played lots of jump rope and other type of games with the hose.
It is crazy how kids can have so much fun in such a little pool :)
Hooray!
Emma plays on the tramp
Can you guess who loved the water guns?
As the day wore on, clouds rolled in. Emma and Lizzie warm up in their towels
Bekah is REALLY into climbing everything lately. I have found her standing on top of the table, the arms of the sofa, the piano (!), and many other places. She loves climbing the slide and zooming down the other side.
We had lots of running and excitement!
She made it!
Hannah and Hayley play on our swing set with Lizzie in her jams :)
