The Boyer Family Blog...: It's a Race! It's a Race!

On our way to the cabin, we stopped in Boise to visit the fam. We had a quick over-night stay. The kids swam, the adults chatted, and we all enjoyed yummy food. The next morning was the Capital Classic. This is a kids-only (ages 6-14) race from the Boise train depot to the Capital building. I used to run this race as a kid myself. The Boise gang (Richards kids and James) always run it so we decided to sign up as well. We went straight from the race to the cabin. It was a rainy day, but the kids seemed to really enjoy themselves. It was the first time any of them had been in a race. They did pretty good. I was proud of them. :)

Lizzie did well. She took 7th place (out of like 67 runners or something) for her age category. Way to go Lizzie! She is #404 with the purple shorts.

Hannah didn't exactly win her division (56th of 57, lol, in her age division). She was very "Hannah" however. First, she took off super fast...Addie (who took 1st place in their age division!) yelled to her to slow down ("Hannah!! You're going to tire yourself out!! You must pace yourself!" Hehe) but she didn't listen. Instead, when she DID indeed tire out, she found a new friend. She and her friend decided to take the race leisurely and just chat instead, hehe. It was all just so...Hannah!

After the race, they have all kinds of goodies for the runners. Here we are enjoying the fruits of sweet success.

I love my guy! Ammon did pretty well. He was around the middle of the pack for his age-group. He says he thinks he should have paced himself better. :)
