R.S. Broadcast Follow-up

I thought I would share a couple of fun and inspiring tidbits from my night with the choir.

1. During our rehearsal before the broadcast, Sister Beck told us a funny story about the first time she spoke in conference. She was in the Young Women's presidency as a counselor. She said that she was so super nervous. Throughout the broadcast, the president would lean over periodically and pat her on the leg, or squeeze her arm. After the broadcast was over, Sister Beck went to the president and told her how much she appreciated the comfort when she was feeling so nervous. The president looked at her and said, "Well, you kept MOANING!" LOL

2. After the broadcast, the entire R.S. board came over to us and did a simultaneous kiss blowing. It was very sweet (especially after we spent so much time with them over the last couple of months)

3. Sister Beck lives in our area. In fact, her ward and stake were part of the choir. Some of her own family was in the choir. As her farewell to us, she said, "I love you! See you at Kohlers (our neighborhood grocery store)!"

4. Next week we are having a Primary Choir (who has been struggling getting it all put together, so remember them in your prayers!) in General Conference! Oh, how I wish my kids were in it! What an experience! I can't wait to see them.

5. We were told in our prayer meeting that both Elder Scott and Elder Bednar were also in attendance at the meeting. They did not sit on the stand. They didn't want to bring attention to themselves so they just hung out in the booth. Although they did not need to be there, and were not technically a part of the meeting, they wanted to show the R.S. Presidency that they love them and support them. Isn't that sweet? How can people say that women are second class in our church? I feel nothing but love...

It was great! I know that many of you didn't really see me, but I am so glad! After reviewing the couple of times it DOES show me more closely, I am grateful that I wasn't on more, hehe. I am happy that I was able to bear witness to my Savior and I don't have to dwell on how fat I looked instead. :)

I can hardly wait for next weekend!!!

Okay, here you go...if you click on the picture you can see me on the far right side, third row. Ugh. Are you happy now? Blah, blah, blah

Hehe, those are cute stories. I can fully understand why she would be moaning. Ugh! Even the thought of it is horrifying! And I can't believe she mentioned Kohlers! I thought you guys were joking when you kept saying that everyone knows everyone else who goes there. So funny! That does sound like a great experience. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
