Cooking with Chef Ammon

Ammon decided that he wanted to make cookies all by himself for the first time this week. He had nice assistants in the girls. I tried to stay out of it (that is somehow trickier than it sounds). The only time I really intervened was when I noticed him putting in 1/4 CUP of salt instead of 1/4 teaspoon. :) The cookies turned out really good. They don't taste quite the same as normal, but a little sweeter. Oh, well. I guess we could all use more sugar in this household.

Ammon breaks an egg. The girls insisted he wear that hat as a "chef's hat"
Hannah and Lizzie helped by holding the bowl for him as he mixed
They also took turns being the spatula person for him
Here I am feeding Bekah as they worked
Bekah is concerned about what is going on
The mix
Caleb just wants cookies
Checking the cookie dough
What a stud
The final product (he accidentally cooked them at the wrong temperature so their consistency was a bit off, but the kids still enjoyed them)

Haha, so funny! Good thing you caught him before he dumped in the salt! That would have been interesting. Maybe it would have balanced out the extra sugar though. :) Brave of you to let him use the hand mixer. What a great mom you are! Did they clean up any messes they made too?
