The simple things in life

Last week, while Ammo was away at scout camp, we chose to do Ammon's "least favorite" free activity so he wouldn't feel too bad about missing out. So...we packed up a lunch and dragged the Nortons along for a fun afternoon. The funny thing is, the least favorite activity (play at the park with a picnic) turned out to be a blast. The girls had a fantastic time and couldn't stop thanking me for taking them. After all of our field trips, I ask each child which part was their favorite (or what they learned, etc) as we drive home. This past week, they all said that they loved it all...couldn't pick a favorite part! Sometimes it is the simple things that end up being the most rewarding.

Caleb loved playing in this little area in the park. He was playing some sort of army game or something up there.

This was a fun park! It had all kinds of "different" equipment. Lizzie is on this spinny thing.

A teeter totter!

Lunch always tastes better at the park

We actually chose this particular park because my friend Heidi told me that it had this nice little creek running through it. The kids had a ball playing in the water.
The kids spent a lot of time doing "shoe races" in the water. They took off their flip flops and crocs and sent them down the water. Such childhood fun!

After our picnic, we headed over to a local splash park. It was PACKED! We almost chickened out and left after seeing all those people, but I am so glad we didn't. The kids had a great time (and it was free!)

Emma is so much braver than she has been in the past

Cute sisters

Hmmm...I wonder if these kids count as "debris"

Cabers fell down at the park and got a big owie on his knee. He was pretty sad and didn't want to play in the water. Right before we left, I talked him into finally getting in and he ended up having a good time.
