Park and Picnic

We have been having such wonderful weather! We have really been enjoying it. Last week, I decided to take the young Boyer set to the park for a picnic. If you may remember, not too long ago I was murmuring about how we didn't have any good parks around us. Well, not a week or so after we took the kids to the elementary school to play, I discovered that we have a very nice park RIGHT IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD, lol!! Oops. It is a nice walk. I decided to use the double stroller for the first time in ages and ages. Emma has a two wheeled bike with training wheels that she rides, but it makes her nervous so she tends to go super slow. Instead, I had her ride the trusty Big Wheel which now technically belongs to Caleb (what does it say about a little man when his mom makes him use a hand-me-down girl's PINK Big Wheel?). We had a great walk and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the park.

Emma (5) leads the way to the park...we must pass some important landmarks...the "star' house and the double basketball hoop, lol
Riding in style...we made it!

The park has a big twisty slide that the kids love. Caleb (3) zooms down.
Bekah (18 months) always wants in on the action. She is by far our most outdoorsy child. One of the main reasons we went to the park that day was because she was sooo fussy. I knew that as soon as we went outside, she would be happy again.

I LOVE this picture. If you look closely, you can see that Bekah (18 months) is jumping. Her feet are not touching the ground. She is really into jumping all the time lately, especially when she is happy/excited. So cute!
The smootchies on the swings. Bekah actually is NOT that fond of the swings, but she IS fond of walking in front of her siblings as they swing. Therefore, since they wanted to swing, I made her swing as well. :)
Lunch.
Bekah loves jam sandwiches, and they seem to love her right back!

Joe called from work (hooray for jobs!) and we told him that we went to the park. He warned us that the older kids were going to be mad, mad, mad, lol. They are not happy with me when we do fun stuff while they are stuck at boring old school. Sigh. Anyway, he was definitely right. Ammon just blew it off like nothing, but Hannah and Lizzie were distraught. To make it up to them, I took them on a walk to the "lookout point", a spot not too far from our house where we can see the whole valley and then we had ANOTHER picnic for dinner. We ate in the backyard this time, however. Two picnics in one day were plenty for me, thank you very much!

That is a great picture of Bekah jumping! I've got to get a better camera so I can get better shots like that one. I did really enjoy the expression on Joe's face in that first picnic picture and Lizzie making a face in the second. Hehe. Sounds like busy day!
