For the Burton Clan...a Drive Down Memory Lane

The drive to and from Boise involved lots of snowy conditions. On the way home, the freeway was closed and we had to drive around through Pocatello. For those of you who don't know, I lived in Pocatello for about 4 1/2 years during my childhood. I moved away at the age of 12, however, and really had no idea how to find our old house or anything. As we were changing freeways, we really needed to stop and get gas. Joe was concerned that we had missed all the gas stations so I promised to get off at the very next exit we came upon. Imagine my surprise when it was Pocatello Creek Road, the very street on which we used to live! As we got off the exit, I recoginzed it immediately. We lived just up the street from the freeway entrance, so we took a quick jaunt down memory lane. Here are the pictures of our old abode!

Joe insulted our old home by saying it looked like a dump. :) I LOVED that house!!!

Sorry...I only got really bad pictures of good old Edahow Elementary School.
We spent lots of fun times climbing on the roof of the clubhouse. It is also the backdrop of the famous bear/porcupine incident. :)
Many, many times we walked down this street to visit the gas station. It now has a Jack in the Box and Perkins on the corners!
The Gas Station. You have to say that with capital letters. It used to be a Circle K when we lived there, but it is still very much the same. We gassed up there and the kids begged me to buy them lollies there for 5 cents like I did when I was a kid. Of course, they don't have them anymore, hehe.

So awesome!!!!! Especially the picture of the "clubhouse"! I don't remember those houses behind being so close, but maybe that's because it's winter and there are no leaves on the trees and bushes.
Thanks for posting this!
