After we arrived, Emily and I had one of our famous "meetings" with the kids where we plot out our outings for the time we had together. We decided upon a few places to check out (although bowling was voted down, much to Karl's dismay) and were off for the week. We ended up taking the kids to Planet Kid (a big jungle gym type of place), a kids movie, and the Discovery Center (a science place). We also swam nearly every day and had more "adult" stuff in the evenings.
Throughout the week, most of us caught the cold that Emma had brought with her. I had it early in the week and was just feeling a little better when Bekah caught it. Offended by the virus that hit her body, she decided to protest by not sleeping for about three days. Unfortunately, this curtailed my improvement. My sister Emily and my hubby Joe caught the sickness a few days in and our activities sort of ceased at that point. I think that the last four days or so, we barely saw Emily at all! The poor thing was in her bedroom all the time. The kids were champs, though, and didn't do TOO much complaining about staying at Em's house all the time (we cancelled our plans for going to the park and going camping). I guess their happiness could have something to do with lots of electronics and cousins!
Hope you're feeling better Richards! Here are some pictures of early in the week, before Emily and Joey were struck by illness...

I'm so sorry you guys were sick. That really seems to ruin a vacation. :( You'll have to make up for it on the next vacation by doing something really WILD! I don't know what, but something. ;)
