Sickness Log

Sorry everyone...you can simply disregard this log :). I keep wondering how often someone is sick in this family. Sometimes, during the winter months, it seems that at least one person in our family is ALWAYS sick! I finally decided that I am going to make an on-going log (for my own reference) this year that details anytime anyone gets sick. Next year, I want to be able to look and see when and who was sick and how often. I will update this post anytime one of us gets sick this flu-season. Cheesy, I know, but I really want it for my own records. I considered just making a word document or something, but somehow I know I will lose it. This way, it is stuck here and I can always look it up. So, please ignore this log...unless you really want to feel better that you are not sick as much as us or something, hehe.

Sept 22: Bekah gets fever (103-104)
Sept 23: Bekah continues to have her fever and extreme crankiness
Sept 24: Caleb gets sudden fever (103)
Sept 25: Caleb and Bekah test positive for strep get antibiotics
Sept 26th: Fever, nausea, and crankiness continue for Caleb and Bekah
Sept 27th: Bekah and Caleb seem to mostly be feeling better
Sept 30th: Lizzie gets fever
Oct 1st: Lizzie tests positive for strep
Oct 2nd: Lizzie continues to have fever but getting better
Oct 3rd: Emma gets fever, the doctor calls in medication for strep without testing
Oct 4th: Hannah gets fever and stomach ache, medication is also called in for her (but I later suspect that she doesn't have strep)
Oct 5th: All are (mostly) better
Oct 15th: Lizzie gets stomach bug...throws up 20+ times in about 14 hours
Oct 21st: Caleb gets cold...runny nose, cranky behavior, etc
Oct 25th: Ammon gets cold...runny nose, cough, headache
Oct 26th: Ammon fever as well
Oct 27th: Ammon still has fever, congestion, cough, headache. The doctor believes he has H1N1, but they do not test him :( I have my doubts...
Oct 28th: Hannah complains of sore throat, low grade fever (Ammon's fever is gone, although he still has lots of congestion and cough and a little bit of red eye)
Oct 29th: Hannah has fever 102-103, congestion, cough, headache, Emma complains of stomachache and sore throat...Hannah is very sad to miss her Halloween party tomorrow at school. I hope none of the kids have to miss out on trick or treating on Saturday!
Oct 29th: Emma develops a fever of 103.6...no cough or congestion that I can see. Emma will also be missing her Halloween party tomorrow. Both she and Hannah are praying to be better on Saturday!
Oct 30th: Emma and Hannah still have fevers, congestion, cough, headache, sore throat.
Oct 31st: Emma still has fever. Ammon and Hannah are coughing and hacking...dry croupy like coughs (we did go trick or treating, however)
Nov 1st: Five children and Joey stay home from church. Lizzie and I attend. Caleb and Bekah both have runny noses and coughs. They have no sign of fever yet.
Nov 2nd: Emma and Lizzie stay home from school. Lizzie was complaining of upset stomach and sore throat so I thought I had better keep her to be safe. She seems fine, however, so I am bummed that she doesn't have it yet! Bekah and Caleb continue to only have runny noses. Not sure if that means they have just a cold and not H1N1 like the older kids. Oh and Happy Birthday to Bekars!
Nov 3rd: With everyone seeming mostly well, I sent all the kids to school. Unfortunately, withint an hour both Emma and Hannah had called for me to pick them up. They both had upset stomachs. Both napped and felt better.
Nov 4th: Joe and I are both sick with congestion, sore throats, and aches. Lizzie ended up with a fever of 101.5 this morning. She is home as well. Update: After lots of complaining of eye pain by Lizzie, I took her in to see the doctor. When we got there, her fever was 104. Oops. I felt bad. Anyway, they are certain that she has the flu, but they do not test non high-risk patients. The doctor also said that it doesn't sound like Caleb or Bekah has had it yet. They probably have a different cold. She also said they could get the H1N1 on TOP of their current cold so to keep an eye on them. If Bekah gets a fever, she said they will treat her. I guess we'll just keep on waiting!
Nov 5th: Lizzie's fever is still 103-104. She is coughing a lot and complaining of nausea, bodyaches and congestion. Joe and I are both sick as well. Neither of us have fevers, but we have everything else (and, oh, my throat is killing me!).
Nov 6th: Lizzie's fever is now around 102. Caleb woke up with a rash all over his body.
Nov 7th: All the kids seem mostly better. Lizzie's fever is gone as is Cabers' rash. Joe, however, feels terrible.
Nov 8th: After nearly two days of no fever, Lizzie suddenly has a temp again :( It is 102. Along with all her chest congestion, I am kind of freaking out that she may be getting pneumonia. I guess I'll take her in to see the doc tomorrow.
Nov 9th: I took Lizzie in to see the doctor after her fever remained at 101. They cannot find any sign of a secondary infection. They said they have seen this a bit with the H1N1 where the fever sticks around.
Nov 10th: Lizzie seems to be feeling mostly better. Ammon called at 11am for me to come pick him up from school. He has a low-low grade fever...hovering around 100.2 or 100.3. Unless it goes over 100.4, he WILL be going to school tomorrow!
