Guess who is almost two??

Our little Bekars is almost two years old and I would guess it is pretty obvious to most anyone who spends time with her. Not by the way she can hold my hand and walk places by herself. Not by the way she drinks from a big girl cup. Not by the way she insists on sitting in the big kid part of the fun carts at the store instead of the top section. You can tell simply because her naughtiness quota has gone through the roof!

She is a bit of a mischievous girl and especially loves to torment her big brother Caleb. He is just so easy to torment, I guess. Their car seats are right next to each other in the car and she quickly discovered that it bothers Caleb to no end if she reaches over and touches him...again and again. She also likes to play every game he is involved in. With Emma in kindergarten, they are spending a lot more time together...much to Caleb's dismay, I think. He really loves to make tracks and drive his cars on them. She always wants to play with him, but she has a tendency to stand on the tracks and mess them all up. At breakfast, she will push her sippy cup (or cereal or whatever else she has at hand) at him simply because she knows it will make him mad.

She has also started hitting. Sigh. Pretty much all of the kids have been recipients of her hits. Thus has begun her life in time-out. She had her first time out a couple of weeks ago. She is funny because I sit her on the stairs with a very stern "No!" and she stays. I thought that perhaps she would run away, but she doesn't. She just cries until her timer rings. The first time she went to time-out, it was for hitting Caleb (surprise). When her time-out was over, I took her over to him and told her to say sorry for hitting. Instead, she pulled back and smacked him again, lol. Oops.

Ahhhh....life with a two year old is so pleasant. :)

Sharing is not the strong suit of a two year old. One thing Bekah absolutely does NOT want to share is her Papa. She loves Joe sooooo much. She constantly wants him to hold her and snuggle her. The other day he came home and went straight to the bathroom. She stood outside the door just sobbing until he finally came out to give her a love. Here she is one day after Joe left for work. She was very sad that he didn't take her with him.

Playing cars is a VERY serious business for a three year old boy :)

Too bad your mom always makes you share with your annoying baby sister :)

In addition to climbing on everything up high and coloring on everything down low, Bekah likes to explore her environment. Here she is after finding Joe's hidden floss (up in a cupboard above the desk)

Gotta have clean teeth!

The typical time-out scenario...first she flings her head back and cries

...the she calms down a bit

and finally just waits for it to be over
