Every day life

Generally things are fun and busy at home. With my job and the kids school/activities, we all stay pretty busy. . In fact, for our anniversary, Joe and I just wanted a day to do nothing. We got all of our usual Saturday work done the day before and then on Saturday we hung out at home and played video games. Hannah thought this was EXTREMELY lame and unromantic. She ended up surprising us with a romantic dinner by the fireplace. She made all the food, set the table (complete with candles and music) and cleaned up. Emma was her assistant. Emma also left a paper for Joe to fill out. It had instructions for him to write me a note telling me about how much he loved me. It even had suggestions for where and how to sign it. Cracked me up to no end. I love those girls!

Over the summer, we had a few fun field trips. We also took all the kids out on dates (except Lizzie! Yes, Liz, I do know that I still owe you a date). I got crazy behind at work with my two big trips so I spent the last three weeks of summer working non-stop! The kids enjoyed doing mostly nothing, haha.
A date with Hannah, Caleb and Bekah

These two crack me up!

Bekah being the "normal" one for once!

One evening, the girls told me, "You and Dad are going out to eat tonight. We are having a murder mystery dinner" They planned the whole thing out and had a great evening uncovering the murderer. They even got all dressed up for it. Joe and I had a great time out to dinner!

This was the dinner they made. Hannah is a better cook than I!

I think we only had one activity with the Richards this summer! Em - how is that possible? We went down to BSU to visit the field and the humanitarian hall of fame. Joe was very mad when he found out we went without him!

Inside the practice facility (yes, that is green field!)

The kids are soo enthralled (haha)

Future Broncos?

And Bekah didn't want a picture WITH the bronco. She wanted to BE a Bronco

Emma was thrilled with the stuff I wanted to look at (like Fiesta Bowl trophies), haha!

The kids sat at the huge conference table they have overlooking the field and pretended they were bigwigs.

The surprise anniversary dinner the kids made for us

Joe writing his "totally spontaneous" love note ;)

Those girls really spoil us! Funny thing - at the end, Hannah came out with a "bill!" Hahaha. It just said "Hugs and Kisses" for the total, though. Cutie!
