A couple of weeks ago, during spring break, Joe and I promised the kids that we would take them to the park. It was the only nice day of the week (and it was FABULOUS weather) so we figured we had better take advantage of it. We packed the kids up and took them to the only fun park in our area. That is sort of a gripe of mine. We have a kazillion little toddler type parks, but only one that the older kids can enjoy. When we got to the park, we were dismayed to discover that every man, woman, and child in the area had also decided to descend upon that park. Ugh. There were lines to play.
Joe and I were NOT up for that. We decided to drive on and see if there was anything else we could find. Finally, we just stopped at a school playground. It was a super fun area and virtually empty. I don't know if it is against the rules to play at a school playground during off times, but I did it at my own elementary school just about every day as a child. Using that reasoning, we went ahead and played. It was so perfect. The kids had a wonderful time and we had lots of room to run and play. What a fun day! Oh...by the way, the reason Joe was there for those of you who don't know, his layoff ended up coming earlier than anticipated. We're trying to enjoy every day we have with him until he has to go back to work. :)
Caleb "I need a haircut" Boyer
Lizzie loved the monkey bar things and played on them so long that she ended up with blisters. :(
Hannah Bay has come so far since her terror of bugs days. She plays outside all day! Perhaps we are finally ready for camping, lol.
Bekah wasn't sure she liked the slide
Ammon and Lizzie
The whole gang!
Bekah and I helped time the kids as they raced to the fence and back. She loves my sunglasses. :)
Emma had a great time. I was happy to see her playing well outside. She is currently our child with the huge fear of bugs. She has been doing SO much better lately, though. We are very proud of her.
Caleb was a little hesitant at first, and then just went crazy. He climbed and slid and ran and conked out in the car on the way home. :)
Ammon had a book handy, just in case of emergency boredom, lol.
Bekah is such a big girl these days!
Hannah the racer
The kids ran and ran and ran. Lizzie brought her boomerang she had received as a prize for the dentist. The kids had a ball with it.
