Visiting the Temple...Take Two

As you may or may not remember, we had grand anticipation last summer that our children were going to have a wonderful spiritual experience visiting the Twin Falls Temple open house. Well, it basically ended up being a big flop. The kids were tired, cranky, and just not feeling well. The older kids were fighting and the younger ones were fussy. Needless to say, no grand spiritual experience happened, lol. We were so disappointed.

Being of hardy pioneer stock, however, we decided to not give up on our quest. We went ahead and got tickets for the Draper Temple open house. Last weekend, we met up with the Nortons (just in case doubling the number of young children in our group would magnify the spiritual experience, lol) and visited the temple. We actually had a great time. I don't know if I would call it any a magnificent experience, but the older kids told me that they felt the spirit. While Caleb's favorite part was riding the buses to and from the temple, Emma loved the "fountain" (the baptismal font) and Hannah couldn't stop talking about the Celestial Room. All in all, we really enjoyed ourselves. We may even try again soon for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple!

After the temple tour, we were directed to a nearby chapel where they had cookies and water. Here is most of the gang

I told Rachel as I was taking this picture that I have a lot of pictures with these two guys holding these two babies. Aren't dads the best?
One of the only negative parts of the day was waiting for the bus to take us back to our cars. I would guess we waited for 30 minutes or more. The boys were not super patient and started chasing each other around the foyer
Emma waits patiently for our bus. We were told before we left that we needed to board the "green bus." Emma was very concerned about finding the right one and continually reminded me that we needed to look for the green one. :)
